Love

What is love? Merriman-Webster’s Dictionary includes this one definition: "unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another". I have also read and heard about the following attributes of love:
It protects. It trusts. It hopes. It perseveres. It never fails. It is patient. It is kind. It delights in truth. It does not envy. It does not boast nor is it proud. It is not rude, self-seeking, easily angered nor does it keep a record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil.
Let us remember to love ourselves and each other in all that we do, say and think. I wonder what a different world this would be if we truly lived our lives showing “unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another” in every area of our lives.
My challenge to each of us: with each action, word, thought—ask, Is this showing unselfish, loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another? If the answer is no: do, say or think something that is. If yes, continue and repeat. Habits are developed by continually repeating our actions… and what a good habit to develop…. demonstrating love (unselfish, loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another) in every aspect of our lives.
